Faber Stories
Information
To celebrate its 90th anniversary, publisher Faber and Faber published a collection of 20 short stores, showcasing its enviable backlist of literary talent. I was invited to design the cover for Kazuo Ishiguro’s Come Rain or Come Shine, for which I created an abstract composition featuring 45rpm vinyl adapters, a nod to Raymond – the book’s music-loving central character – a misunderstood drifter who, just like the record adapters, has a singular, and sadly forgotten purpose:
‘If I’m a good friend, I’m glad. Because I’m not much good at anything else. In fact, I’m pretty useless, really.’
